Västerås Air Show

Västerås/Hässlö airport, May 1999

The show started off with some aerobatics...

...while spectators were gathering among the airplanes that were on static display. Here is a Tummelisa, an ancient school aircraft of what was then the Royal Swedish Army Flying Corps.

Well, there were some interesting cars aswell. Isn't that a Messerschmitt, right in front of the An-2?

But back to the airplanes - for example this old DeHavilland Vampire, in the Swedish AF formerly known as J 28.

And of course the show was visited by some modern fighters, here the JA 37 Viggen.

A couple of veteran Hawker Hunters, taking off down the runway in a typical mid-Swedish landscape.

  The Hunters passing by.
